JOHOR BARU, May 6 — With two days to go for polling day, Barisan Nasional’s Iskandar Puteri hopeful Datuk Jason Teoh Sew Hock launched his own Chinese music video in a his bid to reach out to voters last night.

The Mandarin music video titled You Are My Only One featured Teoh in Gelang Patah and other areas within Iskandar Puteri where he is contesting.

The video focused on showing the 49-year-old businessman as a local Iskandar Puteri native which has been his campaign theme in reaching out to voters.

In a campaign event held at a food court in Taman Ungku Tun Aminah in Skudai last night, Teoh played the music video to a crowd of about 800 people.

Taman Ungku Tun Aminah in Skudai is considered a "black area” for BN as it has long been a DAP stronghold held by the party’s incumbent assemblyman Dr Boo Cheng Hau.

He was joined by BN’s Skudai state seat candidate Datuk S. Kanan and also Kampung Sungai Melayu Umno chief Pandak Ahmad.

After his speech before the launch of the music video, Teoh invited a man to the stage and introduced him as Ah Di, a popular Malaysian singer and songwriter who is famous for his hit Chinese song Xiao Wei.

He said that the singer had wanted to create a song for him as a tribute for his contribution to the community living in Iskandar Puteri.

"I became acquainted with him (Ah Di) after he moved to Iskandar Puteri where we later became good friends.

"He was inspired about my work in Iskandar Puteri and he created this song especially for me where it tells my story,” said Teoh, adding that he hopes the song and music video will reach out to voters.

Teoh, who is also known to have a YouTube campaign video in his Hokkien dialect, also said that the song was a special gift for him.

"From what I know, many celebrities wanted Ah Di to compose songs for them, but he declined.

"To me, Ah Di had created something special where my life story is told through his song,” he said.

In conjunction with the song, Teoh together with his team also showcased two short films that featured BN’s manifesto for Iskandar Puteri parliamentary constituency.
