KUALA LUMPUR, May 4 — A police team has been dispatched to Bangkok, Thailand as part of investigations into the killing of a Palestinian lecturer on April 21, said Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun.

The Inspector-General of Police said the team will meet representatives of the Royal Thai Police leadership and try to trace the two suspects’ whereabouts.

"We are also in communication with our peers in Singapore and Indonesia for any information or assistance into the matter,” he told reporters.

When asked if the two suspects have fled Malaysia, Fuzi said this was likely.

Lecturer Fadi al-Batsh was gunned down by two unknown assailants outside his residence in Setapak, who were waiting for him as he was heading for morning prayers.

His family in Palestine accused the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad of orchestrating his assassination.

However, Israel, who viewed Fadi as a drone and rocket expert, dismissed rumours of its involvement.

BBC reported its defence minister, Avigdor Lieberman, as suggesting that Fadi may have been killed as part of an internal dispute within Hamas, in which Fadi had been a senior member.
