KUALA LUMPUR, May 3 — Caretaker Johor mentri besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin challenged Pakatan Harapan today to say who it intends to take his spot if the informal pact can win the state during the general election.

He noted that while the pact eagerly shared its plans for the state when unveiling its manifesto on April 6, PH has been notably silent on the personalities that would head Johor despite the express ambitions to seize it from Barisan Nasional.

Khaled asked if they meant for PPBM president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to assume the role, noting that the former MB is contesting both the Pagoh federal seat and running to be the Gambir assemblyman.

"Why did he contest here in Gambir? Does he wish to be the MB? If so, then why did he not announce his intention to contests in Gambir was because he wants to be the MB?” he asked

Khaled suggested that Muhyiddin was keeping silent on the matter as he was hedging his bets on possibly receiving a federal appointment, which he said would be foiled if the former deputy prime minister declared himself for the post.

He then told voters that this suggested that Muhyiddin considered them to only be his second choice, and was only leading them on in the belief he would be PH’s mentri besar in Johor.

"Why would you choose him? He does not want to serve you nor will he be the next MB,'' he said.

Khaled then mocked Muhyiddin over the latter’s fall from grace, saying Umno "pitied” the latter who went from the country’s DPM to his current political wilderness.

He also suggested that the PPBM president’s interest in the state was ephemeral, and would disappear if PH cannot win the state or the general election.
