KUALA LUMPUR, April 30 — Many Malaysians remain undecided over their prime minister candidate but would prefer Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad over Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, Invoke Malaysia said today.

The research outfit revealed findings of a recent survey which polled respondents on who they would want as PM in the event of a change in power in federal government after GE14.

"However, it was worthy to note that most Malaysians were undecided over who they would rather have as a prime minister,” he said.

Rafizi said Invoke’s study revealed of the 1,961 people interviewed, 35.9 per cent of them were undecided on who they wanted as their prime minister, while 29.9 preferred Dr Mahathir, and 10.4 per cent chose Hadi Awang.

"With the results, we can see a clear correlation with those who want Tun M (Dr Mahathir) as their prime minister and their likeliness to vote for Pakatan Harapan.

"Likewise we can draw the same conclusion for PAS, where only those who want to see Hadi as the PM (prime minister) of course will vote for PAS,” he said.

Rafizi said the research was conducted on registered voters randomly picked by a computerised system who were interviewed by phone.

He said the results of the research were based on sentiments picked up from April 12 to April 23 this year, were from all races, with a margin of error of 2.21 per cent.

"The research was conducted using the process of weightage and strata calculations, which represents voters opinions based on the demographic they belonged to,” he explained.
