Four-cornered contest in Labuan

LABUAN, April 28 ― The Labuan parliamentary seat will see a four-cornered contest among Barisan Nasional, PAS, Warisan and Parti Harapan Rakyat Sabah in the 14th general election (GE14) on May 9.

Incumbent BN candidate Datuk Rozman Isli, 52, arrived at the nomination centre at Labuan Matriculation College at 9am.

Returning officer Raisin Saidin received the nomination papers from the contenders.

PAS fielded its Labuan deputy chief Ahmad Junid Mohamad Aling, 51, while Warisan’s candidate is Noor Halim Zaini, 54. Parti Harapan Rakyat Sabah fielded a woman, Siti Zaleha Ibrahim, 61.

Rozman won the Labuan seat in GE13 with a 6,625-vote majority over PKR and PAS.

Labuan has 28,356 registered voters. ― Bernama
