KUALA LUMPUR, April 27 — Police have identified a Proton Saga sedan car believed to be linked to the two who assassinated Palestinian lecturer Fadi Mohammed al-Batsh, police source has said.
According to a report by Kosmo! today, the vehicle was found at Taman Tasik Ampang Hilir at 2am uesyerdau following police inspection and tip-off from several civilians.
The Malay daily quoted an anonymous source saying police did not rule out the possibility that the suspects used the car in attempt to escape detection after they left behind their Kawasaki Versys motorcycles in Danau Kota, Setapak.
"CCTV footage around the Jalan Danau Niaga area helped us learn that they left the motorcycle behind and rode in a car instead, investigations also indicated that the suspect rented the car for three months from the local owner,” said the source.
The source told the newspaper that the car owner has been identified and further investigations are still being carried out.
"For now, the car has been brought to the Wangsa Maju Police Headquarters,” said the source.
"We believe the suspects are still in the country based on recent findings.”
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim however refused to verify the report, saying only Inspector-General Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun can comment on the matter.
