KUALA LUMPUR, April 23 — Controversial celebrity Azwan Ali has vowed to stand in the 14th general election against his brother, Selangor caretaker Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, New Straits Times reported.

Azwan, popularly known by the monicker "Diva AA”, was quoted saying he planned to contest as an independent candidate to force his brother's defeat.

"It does not matter whether he stands in a parliamentary or state seat, I will run against him anywhere to destroy his political career,” he said.

Azwan also said that he has "many secrets” about his brother.

The celebrity said he would use them to expose Azmin during the campaigning period.

"People can say whatever they want but I want to expose him (Azmin) for what he is...I don't want the Selangor people to continue to be fooled,” he said.

Azmin is the incumbent Gombak member of parliament and Bukit Antarabangsa state assemblyman since 2008. He is also PKR's deputy president.

The estranged relationship between the two siblings are widely known, and Azwan has been vocal in condemning his brother all this while.

Azwan is the youngest of the Ali siblings.

He recently lodged a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) against Azmin, alleging abuse of power and corrupt practices.

He had previously called on Selangor voters not re-elect Azmin and claimed Selangor would face a "major disaster” if his brother was made MB again.
