Court sets May 28 for mention of Indonesian maid murder case

BUKIT MERTAJAM, April 19 ― The Magistrate’s Court here today fixed May 28 to mention a case involving a woman charged with murdering her Indonesian maid.

Magistrate Dianne Ningrad Nor Azahar set the date after deputy public prosecutor Hamzah Azhan informed the court that the prosecution had yet to receive the post mortem and chemist reports.

Last Feb 21, MA Ambika, 60, was charged with the murder of Adelina Lisao, 28, at her house in Medan  Kota Permai 2, Taman Kota Permai 2, here at 4pm on Feb 10 this year.

The sexagenarian was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code and faced the mandatory death sentence, upon conviction.

Also present at today’s proceeding was Indonesian General-Consul in Penang Iwanshah Wibisono, who told reporters that the victim’s next-of-kin had received RM 69,300 in compensation. ― Bernama
