PM hails Malaysian team for securing two more gold medals

KUALA LUMPUR, April 13 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today congratulated the national contingent for winning two more gold medals at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games (GC2018).

"2 more gold medals today for Malaysia! Congratulations @emmafiryana & Siti Zalina Ahmad who won the fourth gold medal in lawn bowls & Amy Kwan Dict Weng the fifth in rhythmic gymnastics!” he said on his Twitter account.

Siti Zalina Ahmad and Emma Firyana Saroji won gold in the women’s pairs while Amy Kwan in the ribbons event, thus ending an eight-year wait for a gold medal in rhythmic gymnastics in the Commonwealth Games.

Malaysia are in 10th spot in the medal tally with a collection of five gold, five silver and nine bronze thus far.

The curtains come down on GC2018 this Sunday. — Bernama
