SHAH ALAM, April 9 — The Selangor state assembly has been dissolved this morning with the consent of the Ruler, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
Strategic communications director from the Selangor Mentri Besar's Office Yin Shao Loong said that Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali had sought an audience with the Sultan at Istana Alam Shah in Klang at 10am.
"At 10.30, His Royal Highness consented to dissolution pursuant to Articles 55 and 70 of the Selangor state constitution,” he said when contacted.
Azmin is scheduled to have a press conference later today at the state secretariat building.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak announced the dissolution of Parliament on April 7, paving way for GE14.
