KUALA LUMPUR, April 8 — DAP has lost its principles and dignity by sacrificing its own logo in the election for the sake of obtaining Malay votes, MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said today.

Liow said some of DAP’s supporters and members have shown disappointment with the decision to discard the party’s rocket logo by contesting under the banner of PKR in the 14th general election.

"They (DAP) do not have core values and are incompatible with one another unlike Barisan Nasional.

"They (Pakatan Harapan) are more individualistic, each with their own objectives and have no consensus with one another,” he said in a press conference after launching MCA’s manifesto for the 14th general election.

He said even though Pakatan Harapan (PH) has decided to use PKR’s logo for the election, DAP was still using its own rocket logo for campaigning.

Liow accused DAP of spreading hatred and disunity and of backpedalling on most of their decisions.

"Such attitude is not consistent at all and they have still a long way to go in convincing their own party members before engaging the voters,” he said.

On Friday, Pakatan Harapan (PH) parties — including the temporarily disbanded Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia — announced they will be contesting the 14th general election under the logo of PKR.

The Registrar of Societies (RoS) ordered PPBM last Thursday to temporarily disband for 30 days, claiming the party failed to fulfil RoS’ February 28 notice requesting for documents and details of the party.
