JOHOR BARU, April 6 — Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar of Johor has given his consent for the state assembly to be dissolved tomorrow.

In a statement uploaded on the Sultan’s official Facebook moments ago, Sultan Ibrahim said he had signed the instrument of dissolution after granting an audience to Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin at 4.15pm at Istana Pasir Pelangi, Johor Baru.

Mohamed Khaled accompanied by state secretary Datuk Azmi Rohani had sought the audience to get the ruler’s consent to dissolve the state assembly for the 14th general election (GE14).

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak earlier today in Putrajaya had announced the dissolution of Parliament for GE14. — Bernama
