KEPONG, March 29 — Malaysians should not be swayed by Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) manifesto, as no recognised body has endorsed it, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said today.

He said this at the key-handing ceremony for the Metropolitan Kepong 1Malaysia Civil Servant Housing Scheme (PPA1M) today.

"What I’m saying is the truth, because there hasn’t been a recognised body that has said the contents of the Opposition’s manifesto are good for our country,” said Najib.

"There is no third party that has said so.

"If independent and credible parties do not have confidence in the manifesto and the agenda brought forward by the Opposition, then we, as the people, should not easily accept their promises.”

Najib added that promises made by his government could be substantiated with proof and said that the country had seen extensive changes under his governance.

"What we have promised, we have proven, big changes have happened in the country,” he said.

"Just look at the Federal Territories today, there is public transport for the people, housing facilities and projects like recreational parks, among others.”

Najib also reiterated that if the Opposition were to abolish the Goods and Service Tax (GST), the country would lose roughly RM20 billion in tax revenue.

"When the country loses this fund, government projects will either be cancelled or cut back substantially,” he said.

Najib said that as a result of the losses, Malaysians may also lose bonus payments for civil servants and the 1Malaysia People’s Aid.

Meanwhile, in addressing the PPA1M housing scheme, he said the government was planning to build 200,000 units, while 35,752 had already been built or are underway.

The houses are between 859 and 1,500 square feet, and are equipped with amenities like futsal courts, a jogging track, a sepak takraw court and a basketball court.

The price ranges from RM90,000 to RM300,000.

Also present was Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Ali Hamsa and Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Mansor.
