Shooting victim outside school was father waiting for child

SERI KEMBANGAN, March 1 ― The man shot dead by two unidentified suspects at the bus stop of a primary school here today was a father waiting for his son to finish classes.

The brazen incident took place in front of several parents and passerby who were also waiting for the school’s afternoon session to end.

Selangor Criminal Investigations Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Fadzil Ahmat said police were alerted around 5.45pm after two unidentified men had shot the victim, who was in his 40s, in front of SK Sri Serdang near Taman Sri Serdang.

"A parent in his 30s also suffered gunshot wound after a stray bullet struck him on his back.

"Our forensics unit are conducting their investigations at this moment and it is still to early to conclude anything,” he said without revealing further.

Fadzil said the injured victim was reported to be in stable condition after seeking treatment at Hospital Serdang.

Eyewitnesses at the scene had claimed to have seen the killers disembarking from a motorcycle and firing several shots at the deceased before escaping.

The case has been classified as murder.
