KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 26 — Vertice Berhad, formerly known as Voir Holdings Berhad, said today it won an RM59 million contract to build an interconnecting road from Petronas’ RAPID site to a ring road.

The construction works of the project at the state oil company’s refinery site in southern Johor will take about 14 months from February 26 to April 8 next year, Vertice said.

"The Board is pleased that the Group has been awarded this contract from Tulane Sdn. Bhd worth RM59.1 million for Petronas’ RAPID project,” Vertice’s board said in a statement.

"While the retail fashion business is still a core component of Vertice’s business, the retail fashion landscape is increasingly competitive in view of the weak consumer sentiment. It is therefore, the Group’s strategic direction to improve its earnings through growing and developing its construction arm.”
