SINGAPORE, Feb 26 — The first day hearing on the alleged match-­fixing involving two Malaysian shuttlers kicked off here today.

According to Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM)’s observer Jadadish Chandra, both players, Zulfadli Zulkiffli and Tan Chun Seang are already here.

Chandra, who was met by Bernama at the hotel where the hearing was held, said the hearing started at 10am and expected to run "the whole day.”

A BAM’s council member, Chandra is also a key member of the national body’s rules, disciplinary and integrity committee.

Chandra said Singapore was chosen for the hearing as it was considered as a "neutral venue” and none of the alleged match fixing activities involving the two shuttlers had taken place in the republic.

Zulfadli’s family was seen at the hotel lobby before being ushered in.

Former world junior champion Zulfadli and ex-Thomas Cupper Tan are represented by their lawyers  at the two-day hearing.

The hearing is conducted by a three-member panel from the Badminton World Federation (BWF). — Bernama
