Four children missing in Simunjan forest

KUCHING,  Feb 25 — Four children, aged between 10 and 14, are reported missing after they ran into a forest area in Kampung Telagus, Simunjan, about 100 kilometres from here.

Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (Operation) Tiong Ling Hii said the children, comprising two boys and two girls, fled into the forest after they were scolded by family members for bathing in a river.

"At 8.23am today, the Simunjan Fire and Rescue Station received a distress call from the Simunjan police station on the incident, following which five firemen from the station were mobilised to the scene,” he said in a statement here today.

As at 10.15am, the children have yet to be found. — Bernama
