KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 22 —Malaysians should be wise in making lifestyle choices and spend only within their means, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said today.
"It is about choice, actually lifestyle is about choice, making the (right) choice. If you make the right choice InsyaAllah you will be able to manage,” he said when addressing the crowd at a forum on the effects of the 2018 budget on Malaysian households at the UKM Medical Centre.
He gave an example of people going to a Japanese restaurant in an expensive hotel for a meal, where they would have to fork out between RM800 to RM1000 for each person.
In comparison he said a meal at a 24-hour eatery would cost only roughly RM8.
"This does not mean we do not want our peoples’ quality of life to improve. Of course we want them to progress upwards but live within your means, if you live within your means InsyaAllah you will be alright,” he said.
