KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 14 — The brother and sister who allegedly abused their Indonesian domestic helper Adelina Lisao to death has been served with a one-week remand extension starting today.

The Star Online reported that Magistrate Court registrar Nor Hapipah Abdullah extended the remand on the duo for another seven days following a request by the police to facilitate investigations.

The pair were initially remanded for four days beginning last Sunday and arrived at the courthouse this morning in lockup attire.

The 39-year-old man and his 36-year-old sister were arrested on Feb 10 and remanded on Feb 11 under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Adelina died on Sunday, less than 24 hours after she was rescued from her home and admitted to the Bukit Mertajam Hospital.

Prior to her death, Adelina was allegedly abused and forced to sleep on the car porch with her employer’s pet dog for a month.
