BENTONG, Feb 8 — Monitoring conducted by the Health Ministry found no mixture of foreign chemicals in the original packet of pre-mixed durian-flavoured coffee that caused two security guards to experience extreme fatigue and weakness after consuming it recently.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam said the contaminated packet was the one that was obtained from the rubbish bin and distributed by unidentified people.

"We leave it to the police to conduct a full investigation into this matter, it is now beyond the ministry’s jurisdiction. However monitoring will continue to be done from time to time,” he told reporters after opening the Special Implementation Taskforce (SITF) centre at Taman Sentosa here today.

He was asked to comment on the latest development on the issue relating to the pre-mixed durian-flavoured coffee, which was believed to have contained drugs.

Also present was Pahang MIC chairman Datuk R. Goonasakaren and State Health, Human Resources and Special Task Committee chairman Datuk Seri Norol Azali Sulaiman. — Bernama
