SHAH ALAM, Feb 8 — Police have arrested two people for criminal intimidation after they attempted to extort money from their victims using replica bullets.

Selangor police chief Commissioner Datuk Pahlawan Mazlan Mansor said the suspects, aged 33 and 36 delivered the 9mm fake bullets in a box to 11 people using a local courier service as a threat to their victims.

"They targeted only men aged between 50 and 70 but all of the victims did not sustain losses as the suspects did not specify their demanded amount yet.

"The suspects bought 20 bullets for RM800 online and were actually necklace ornaments,” he said.

Mazlan said the suspects was supplied with information by another suspect known as Micheal from Kuala Lumpur who is currently on the loose that police is currently tracking down.

He said the suspects, a businessman and an advertising firm employee, have gotten hold of a list containing individuals with fixed deposits in banks.

"I would like to advise the public to not be afraid and to immediately lodge a report if they received any form of threats.

"It may not be solved immediately but at least the police are aware of a criminal incident in the area and we can investigate further to solve it,” he said.
