KAJANG, Feb 6 — A woman was found murdered, with three slash wounds at the back of her head, in a hotel room in Balakong this afternoon.

The woman, said to be aged in her 30s, had failed to respond to calls from hotel staff and was discovered lying in a pool of her own blood in her room at the hotel located along Jalan Kasturi 3 here.

Kajang police chief Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yusoff said police were alerted to the scene around 2pm, where they and hotel staff forced open the hotel door upon arrival.

"Inside the room we found the victim, fully clothed, lying in a pool of blood and with slash wounds at the back of her head, believed to have been inflicted with a sharp object.

He said according to hotel records, the victim had checked in alone on Sunday and was supposed to have checked out this afternoon.

"Hotel staff had called her several times earlier in the day without any response.

"They then alerted the police when they suspected something amiss,” he said.

He said investigations would be directed towards finding out the motive behind the murder.

"At the same time we are trying to establish the victim’s identity as she was found without any identification,” he said.

He said the body would be sent to Serdang Hospital for a post mortem and to determine if there were any other injuries.

"We will wait for the post-mortem results to see if the slashes are the only wounds, and if there were any drugs involved in the case,” he said.

Ahmad Dzaffir said police are also looking to identify the supposed culprits, as they investigate the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
