NILAI, Feb 5 — Two traders would be charged at the Johor Baru Sessions Court on Feb 21 with selling fake milk.
Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin told reporters after visiting the Malaysia Halal Analysis Centre here today, that there was sufficient evidence including the chemist’s report to press charges.
Last December, the ministry’s office in Johor Baru seized 210 boxes of suspected fake infant formula worth RM42,000 at five locations in the state.
Meanwhile, Hamzah said when asked to comment on the seizure of premix coffee that landed two men in Penang Hospital on Jan 31, that the ministry had not received any detailed report on the contents of the coffee.
"We don’t want to make any assumption… when there is enough evidence, we will take appropriate action,” he said. — Bernama
