KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 4 — Police have arrested several people on suspicion of distributing and abusing drugs at an entertainment outlet, the second such operation since November.

Cheras police chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Ghani Mohamad Ji said police made their move on the outlet following a tip-off with a total of 50 people screened during the operation at the outlet located in Midfields Square West, Sungai Besi around 2am today.

"Subsequently, eight suspects were detained with seven testing positive for meth and one for drug distribution,” he said.

Abdul Ghani said police did not obtain any confession from the suspects aged between 28 and 48.

He said police also seized several plastic packets of ecstasy pills and drug-laced drink packets believed to be served to customers at the outlet.

In November, 47 people, including locals, China and Myanmar citizens, were picked up after police raided the same outlet.

Those nabbed were also found to have been abusing powdered ecstasy and pills.
