PETALING JAYA, Jan 27 — Malaysia continues to enhance the capability of its field hospital in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh by adding medical equipment to help more Rohingya refugees in the country.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said the ministry would look into the condition of the hospital to identify the shortcomings and improvements needed.

He said the report on the condition of the hospital would be submitted to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to decide whether to extend the hospital’s operation or otherwise.

"I’m proud that the hospital has treated and saved over 3,500 patients’ lives.

"I believe that with the support and cooperation of other countries such as Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Bangladesh, the hospital’s capability can be enhanced  and help more Rohingya refugees.”

Hishammuddin said this at a press conference after flagging off a special Malaysian delegation to the field hospital in Bangladesh at the Subang Royal Malaysian Air Force base (RMAF), here. — Bernama
