KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 25 ― Environmental groups have called on all political parties to include safeguarding the environment in their manifesto for the upcoming 14th general election (GE14)
In an open letter today that was signed by 16 environmental groups including World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Malaysia, Sabah Wetlands Conservation Society and Malaysian Nature Society Kuching, they urged every political party on both sides of the divide to ensure sustainable development for future generations.
"As the election approaches, we urge all political sides to make sound environmental aspirations a priority and a reality.
"We must aim to achieve development in a sustainable way to balance our aspiration for economic growth without comprising our natural capital,” it said. ― Bernama
