IPOH, Jan 24 — One of the two suspects involved in injuring a 34-year-old woman during a snatch theft incident on Friday has been arrested.
Ipoh district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Ali Tamby said the 30-year-old suspect was arrested today.
The suspect was picked up from his home here at 1pm and was taken to the district police headquarters’ serious crime unit for further action.
Police are investigating the case under Section 394 of the Penal Code for causing hurt while committing a robbery.
Yesterday, Malay Mail reported that the woman sustained serious injuries when she was attacked by two snatch thieves near her mother’s home at Ipoh Garden East on Friday.
The victim identified as Chin Sze Lin said she was going to drop her daughters when the suspects attacked her.
The victim said she was slashed and kicked when she cried for help.
As a result, she suffered 10cm cut to her neck.
She was also injured on her head, hand and got some scratches on her body.
