IPOH, Jan 18 — Perak DAP chairman Nga Kor Ming’s house was raided today because of an annoying content he had posted on social media.

Malaysia Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) confirmed this in a statement released through their Facebook page this evening.

The statement read that the commission together with a team of police from the state’s Commercial Crime Investigation Department had raided several locations linked to Nga, following complaints made against the DAP MP.

"During the raid that was conducted around 3pm, several communication gadgets were seized for further investigations,” the statement read.

The commission added that the matter is being investigated under Section 233 (1)(a) of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 that prohibits the "improper use of network facilities”.

Nga, earlier when presenting himself at Sungai Senam police station as per the commission’s orders told reporters that MCMC had raided his home here and his parents’ home in Ayer Tawar.

Officers from the Internet regulator also raided his service centre in Taiping.

Nga said the raiding party consisted of MCMC officers, police and Special Branch officers who stayed about an hour at each location before leaving.
