124 police reports lodged against Mahfuz for Pahang Sultan insult

KUANTAN, Jan 18 — The police have received 124 reports against Pokok Sena MP Datuk Mahfuz Omar over his alleged insult of the Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Ahmad Shah, in a recent political talk.

Pahang CID chief SAC Othman Nanyan said that as of 3pm today 121 reports had been made in Pahang and three outside the state.

The first police report was made on Jan 14 at the Maran District Police headquarters, he said, adding that altogether 30 reports were made in the district of Maran, 24 in Bentong, 18 in Pekan, 17 in Kuantan, 12 in Temerloh, 11 in Raub, five in Jerantut, two in Lipis and one each in Rompin and Cameron Highlands.

The three reports outside the state were made in Shah Alam and Petaling Jaya in Selangor and Brickfields in Kuala Lumpur, he said to Bernama.

Mahfuz gave a statement on the matter at the Kedah Police headquarters in Alor Setar today.

Othman said the police made a request yesterday to the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission to trace the owner of a social media account who went by the name Rafie Awg Kecik. — Bernama
