PENDANG, Jan 17 ― Who would have thought that a person with deformed hands and feet will be able to operate a smartphone using only her tongue?

Nursamawati  Mahmud, 33, uses her smartphone not only to access social media websites such as Facebook, Instagram and WeChat, but also to promote her family’s soy and chilli sauce business under "Mahmudah” brand.

Nursamawati, who is from Kampung Gelong Gajah here, said her efforts had increased the demand for the products and each month about 4,000 bottles were sold since 2015.

The eldest of five children, who is affectionately called "Kak Long” by her family members, said she currently had more than 1,000 friends on Facebook.

Meanwhile, Nursamawati’s mother Saudah Shaari, 55, said her daughter, was a very determined and strong person.

"Kak Long always wants to see my business to succeed, even though our sales are slightly affected this year due to competition but she never gives up and always operates her smartphone to promote it,” she told reporters here today. ― Bernama
