PUTRAJAYA, Jan 11 — Putrajaya does not take kindly to threats with taxi groups, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said today.

However, he said the government is willing to listen to the grievances by taxi drivers who claim preferential treatment of e-hailing services like Uber and Grab.

"I will ask Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai to meet them, together with Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, for them to address (their) grouses.

"There is no need for threats, we have never been afraid of threats,” he said.

Earlier this week, taxi consortium Big Blue Taxi Facilities Sdn Bhd founder Datuk Shamsu­bahrin Ismail declared that taxi drivers will give their votes to the Opposition if the government fails to address their concerns over the growth of ride-sharing services.
