23 schools in Pahang closed today

KUANTAN, Jan 5 —  Twenty three schools in seven districts in the state involving 5,002 students and 490 teachers were still closed due to floods.  

Acting State Education director Dr Tajuddin Mohd Yunus said the seven schools closed in Pekan were  Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kampung Acheh, SK Pasir Panjang, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Paloh Hinai. 

"They also include SK Sinar Mutiara, SK Temai, SK Permatang and SK Pulau Manis,” he said when contacted by Bernama here today.

He said six schools were closed in Kuantan and they were SK Bukit Kuin, SJK(T) Ladang Kuala Reman, SMK Pandan, SMK Tanah Putih, SK Cherating and SMK Gudang Rasau.

Tajuddin said in Lipis, the three affected school were  SJK(C) Mela, SK Jeram Landak and SK Kuala Kenong while in Maran, SK Kertau, SK Pesagi and SK Kuala Wau were closed.

He said SK Gintong and SK Bukit Nikmat in Jerantut, SK Kuala Teriang in Bera and SK Paya Luas in Temerloh were also closed. — Bernama
