Number of flood evacuees in Perlis rises

KANGAR, Nov 30 — As of noon today, the number of flood victims who have been evacuated to the relief centres, totalled 83 from 24 families.

In a statement issued today, the Perlis Civil Defence Force said the victims were now placed at two relief centres, namely the Titi Tinggi community hall and Beseri Mara Junior Science College, near here.

According to the statement, it was observed that the water level in Sungai Jarum and Sungai Tasuh US was at a dangerous level, while that in Sungai Chuchoh and Sungai Tasuh DS was at the alert level.

It said the affected villages were Kampung Titi Tinggi Hilir, Kampung Wang Kelian, Kampung Alor Dalam, Kampung Kubang Tiga, Kampung Bukit Chabang and Kampung Aman, with the water levels at 0.1 to 0.2 metre high. — Bernama
