IPOH, Nov 28 ― A 39-year-old husband was left in distress after his Vietnamese wife ran away with his three-year-old daughter, following a misunderstanding between the couple.

Loh Mun Kit, who was in tears, said that his daughter Loh Xin Yue, who wass suffering from convulsion, required medicine intake daily and his wife Nguyen Thi Xuyen, 36, left the medicine at home.

Loh said that he was shocked to find out that his wife and daughter went missing when he came back from work last Friday (November 24).

"When I came back home my wife and daughter were not at the home. Both of them were missing.

"Upon checking the house, I found out that all her (Nguyen) things and my daughter's clothes were also gone,” he told reporters at a press conference in Perak MCA Public Service and Complaint Bureau here today.

Loh, who is a cobbler, suspected that his wife has run away as she had told him that she will go back to Vietnam either using the legal way or the illegal way during their argument recently.

Loh said that the argument broke out between them as Nguyen has been receiving many calls from strangers lately.

"I'm worried that my daughter will face problems as her Identification Card (IC) and passport is with me. I'm scared that something will happen to her,” he said.

Loh, who is married for about four years, said that he had made a police report as he didn't want to be responsible if Nguyen decided to go back to Vietnam using the illegal way.

Loh also said that his wife had fled with valuables worth RM1,000 and cash about RM300. 

A confused and devastated Loh, requested for his wife to come back and settle the problem peacefully. He also pointed out that his daughter's life is at stake. 

Meanwhile, Perak MCA Public Service and Complaint Bureau Chief Jimmy Loh said that he had brought Loh to the Immigration Department in Putrajaya yesterday to check whether Nguyen had left the country.

"The Immigration Department told us that there is no record of Nguyen leaving the country. And Loh also had called his mother-in-law in Vietnam and confirmed that Nguyen is not there.

"We suspect Nguyen is still in this country. We request the public to call Loh at 018-5705799 or inform the authorities if they know Loh's wife and daughter's whereabouts,” he said.
