MELAKA, Nov 26 ― The current leaders need to prepare the country for a better future for the coming generations, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
He said the future generations would be the beneficiaries of the country’s leadership, hence the current leaders should not just think about themselves.
As such, Najib said, he had implemented, among others, the National Transformation 2050 (TN50) initiative under his leadership with the focus on preparing the country for the young generation.
"The BN (Barisan Nasional) government does not make empty promises but straight away implements (the plans) for our young. We must today prepare for the future, for our children and grandchildren. The opposition says all kinds of things to us, never mind, we do the best.”
Najib said this when officiating at the Gen Y, Green The City Melaka 2017 programme at Dataran 1Malaysia in Klebang, here. Also present were his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor; Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister Tan Sri Noh Omar; Sabah Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman and Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron. ― Bernama
