PM says monitoring flood situation in Kedah

KUALA LUMPUR,  Nov 18 — The government will monitor the flood situation in Kedah and channel the necessary aid to the affected victims in the state.

"I am monitoring the flood situation in Kedah and I pray all those affected by it to remain calm and follow guidelines and instruction issued by the authorities.

"The government will continue to monitor and provide the necessary assistance,” twitted Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

As at 8pm yesterday, the number of victims affected by flash floods in Kedah had dropped to 212 people from 385 people in the afternoon.

The number of evacuees is expected to drop further with the flood water in most areas reported to be receding. — Bernama
