Teens among individuals detained for illegal gambling in Sarawak

MIRI, Nov 13 — Sarawak police nabbed 50 individuals in 36 gambling raids conducted statewide from Nov 6 to Nov 12.

Sarawak Criminal Investigation Department chief Datuk Dev Kumar in a statement today said 32 of the raids involved illegal 4D sale while the rest, cyber gambling and providing reload services for cyber gambling.

Teenagers and foreigners were among the suspects comprising 34 men and 16 women.

Dev said police also seized RM8,049 cash, mobile phones, portables printers, calculators, betting slips and stationeries, and another RM2,841 cash, mobile phones and tablets in the cyber gambling raids.

He said the suspects were investigated under the Common Gaming House Act 1953. — Bernama
