DPM: Police investigation on Jho Low closed

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 23 — The police have closed their investigation into Malaysian millionaire Low Taek Jho or Jho Low, deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said today.

In a statement prepared by the DPM’s office, he said that the issue of seeking Interpol’s assistance to locate the businessman did not arise as the case was closed.

"The Deputy Prime Minister’s office denies strongly reports that have manipulated the answers of YAB Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi that the PDRM are seeking Interpol’s assistance to locate businessman Jho Low.

"My answer to Gombak MP Azmin Ali in the Dewan Rakyat this morning clearly states that there is no case to be tried,” the statement said.

Low is frequently linked to 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) due to his role in its predecessor, but has not been formally called for any of the investigations into the firm.
