"We believe that these donations are a natural extension of my father’s legacy. He was always deeply passionate about philanthropy and devoted much of his time to serving many of these organisations.

"These organisations represent Malaysians from all walks of life, reflecting his deep love for the country and his lifetime commitment to building this nation. We hope this will honour his memory and life as we continue his legacy by living out the values he left behind,” he said in a statement here, today.

Representatives of 29 organisations were present at the funeral to collect the cheques from members of the family as part of the service. The rest of the donations will be donated directly at a later date.
