Uggah: BN expected to hold component parties’ meeting tomorrow

KUCHING, Oct 20 ― The Barisan Nasional (BN) is expected to a hold a meeting involving all its component parties in the federal capital tomorrow.

The matter was announced by Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) vice president Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.

"The BN headquarters had invited 10 representatives from each BN component party to attend a briefing in Kuala Lumpur tomorrow. With regard to what, I am not sure,” he said briefly to reporters here today.

He was asked to comment on a Chinese language newspaper report last week that said all BN component parties were expected to be called for a meeting in the near future.

Earlier Uggah flagged off  the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development Batang Lupar Road Tour 2017.

Meanwhile on the list of PBB candidates to be fielded in the coming 14th General Election,  Uggah who is also Sarawak Deputy Chief Minister, said the final list has yet to be decided.

"…talks are still ongoing between PBB president (Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg) and  BN chairman (Datuk Seri Najib Razak). What I’m sure is, I will not contest,” he added.

For the record, Uggah, is the seven-term Betong Member of Parliament besides being the Bukit Saban assemblyman after winning the seat in last year’s Sarawak state election. ― Bernama
