KULIM, Oct 20 — The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) is confident of maintaining its four per cent dividend payout to 2.7 million SSPN-i account holders.

Its chairman, Datuk Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah, said the agency was also targeting to pay higher dividend this year in an effort to encourage the habit of saving money for education from a young age.

"We have consistently been paying dividends at four per cent and this is much higher than any other financial institutions offering the same scheme. This is because we do not only offer loans and collect debts but we do much more to ensure depositors earn from their savings.”

He said this to the media after officiating the Umno Assist the People programme in Kulim/Bandar Baharu parliamentary constituency here today

PTPTN, he said was also hoping to achieve its target of 350,000 new accounts and 500 million depositors this year through campaigns to make SSPN-I the choice among those interested in education savings. — Bernama
