KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 14 — PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) is offering a toll rebate of up to 20 per cent for its highway users using the PLUSMiles card in conjunction with Deepavali which falls this October 18.

In a statement issued here today, PLUS said the toll rebate would be offered on October 18, with a 10 per cent rebate offered to Touch ‘n Go card users on the same day.

"Motorists would still be required to pay the toll at normal rate as the 20 per cent and 10 per cent rebate(in the form of reload) will be given to them when they reload their PLUSMiles or Touch ‘n Go cards at the PLUS customer service centres between November 15 and February 14, 2018,” it said.

However, the toll rebate would not cover transactions at the toll plazas at  Bukit Kayu Hitam, Bangunan Sultan Iskandar, Tanjung Kupang and the Penang Bridge.

It said the toll rebate would only be applicable to Class 1 vehicles (cars or light vehicles with 2 axles and three or four  wheels, except taxi)  travelling more than 100 kilometres.

PLUS said the rebate offer was made in appreciation of the support by motorists in using the PLUS highways.

It expects 1.6 million vehicles to use the North-South Expressway everyday on peak days during the Deepavali holiday, an increase of 14 per cent, from 1.4 million vehicles daily on normal days.

PLUS is also issuing a Travel Time Advisory (TTA) for those travelling on the North-South Expressway between Oct 13 and 22.

"TTA is an approach by PLUS to distribute traffic flow and reduce congestion at the mainline, toll plazas and rest areas,” it said. — Bernama
