Two teens detained in anti-road bully operation

SUNGAI PETANI, June 29 — The police detained two teenagers for riding motorcycles recklessly and in a life-threatening manner during anti-road bully operations in Jalan Alor Setar-Butterworth near here early today.

The suspects aged 19 and 18 were picked up separately at 3.30am and about 30 minutes later.

Kuala Muda police chief, ACP Md Zukir Md Isa said a police team nabbed the 19-year-old factory worker after trailing a group of four motorcyclists performing life-threatening stunts.

About 30 minutes later, the police detained the other teenager from Taman Peruda here for performing similar stunts on his machine, he told reporters here.

Md Zukir said both suspects who did not have driving licence were remanded for three days, beginning today to facilitate investigations under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — Bernama
