PM says Malaysia Airlines showing positive results with restructuring exercise

KUALA LUMPUR, June 21 ― Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has expressed satisfaction over the positive results shown by Malaysia Airlines (MAS), saying that its restructuring process is on track.

"Pleased that MAS restructuring is on track, showing positive results. MH team fully deserved the ex-gratia payment. Keep our flag flying high,”  Najib said on Twitter today.

The carrier is undertaking a RM6 billion restructuring exercise which is likely to be completed in five years'  time.

Among others, it is taking measures to cut costs, realign its fleet and expand routes.

The restructuring plan was put into place in 2015. ― Bernama
