KUANTAN, June 21 — A port worker was crushed to death when a large tree became uprooted and fell during a storm in the Kuantan Port area this evening.

Pahang Fire and Rescue Department public relations officer Anuar Hassan said Ab Aziz Jusoh, 54, died on the spot in the 5.30pm incident.

"The victim riding a Modenas Kriss motorcycle was passing the area and could not avoid the falling tree. However, two men in a Produa Viva car survived the incident,” he said when contacted here today.

Meanwhile, Kuantan district police chief ACP Abdul Aziz Salleh confirmed the incident and said they were still waiting for the full report on what happened. 

The victim’s body was sent to Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital here. — Bernama
