KUANTAN, June 18 — A 17-year-old youth died after he was electrocuted at his house in Felda Lurah Bilut, Bentong, last night.

Bentong district police chief Supt Mohamad Mansor Mohd Nor said the incident happened at 11pm when Muhammad Noor Qayyum Noor Asmadi was pulling electrical wire from the house to the garden.

"During the incident, the victim was reported to be alone in the house and was believed to have tried to pull the electrical wire out of the house based on the discovery of several loops of wire on the spot.

"A friend of the victim who was nearby heard his screams and rushed to the scene and found him unconscious on the ground,” he said when contacted by Bernama here today.

The victim was later brought to the Lurah Bilut clinic and pronounced dead by a doctor on duty.

Mansor said the body was taken to the Bentong Hospital for post-mortem before his remains were claimed by his family for burial this morning and police classified the case as sudden death. — Bernama
