IPOH, June 11 — Malaysia is not being pressured by any West Asian country, including Saudi Arabia, which is involved in a regional crisis, to severe ties with Qatar, said International Trade and Industry Minister II Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan.

He said Malaysia adopted a policy of non-intervention in the affairs of other countries and this was the reason why it was not pressured to cut diplomatic relations.

"As we observe such a policy, we are able to sideline any negative impact and maintain the good diplomatic relations currently existing with these countries including Qatar.

"For Malaysia, we just want to be the best trading partner without interfering in the political conflict of any other country,” he  told reporters after officiating the Gopeng MCA annual general meeting here today.
