KUALA LUMPUR, June 9 ― PAS has warned Opposition parties against just wanting to overthrow the government when they themselves are not prepared to take over.

Party deputy president Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man pointed out how in countries like Iraq and Tunisia, the people have worked to overthrow the government but in the end made the situation in the country worse.

"We must not just focus on changing govt but managing the change is also important. If not taken care well, it would be disastrous.

"We have seen in many countries, where people want change but after change things don’t go well,” he said during his speech at the party’s meeting with the media today.

Tuan Ibrahim also warned that such "uprising movements” might be backed by external parties looking for their own benefit.

"The uprising gives room to bigger powers to intervene and make things worse,” he added.

The senior Islamist party leader also put allegations to rest that they were colluding with Umno and Barisan Nasional after exiting Pakatan Rakyat.

Tuan Ibrahim said instead of wanting a change in government, PAS was working towards making changes at a police level.

"We want changes in policy. We want to bring a change that we want to resolve existing problems like nationalism and unity as well as poverty in the country,” he explained.
