GEORGE TOWN, June 9 — Penang state civil servants will receive a special Aidilfitri allowance of up to 0.75 per cent of their salary or a minimum of RM1,000, said Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng.

He said the special aid to the 3,741 state civil servants would involve a sum of RM7.55 million and would be paid on June 20.

"The Aidilfitri aid will be divided into two, namely 0.5 per cent of the salary for all civil servants without disciplinary problems and an additional 0.25 per cent of the salary for satisfactory performance. This includes not taking medical leave from private clinics for more than a day, being punctual for work and not having additional medical leave approved under Regulation 17(a) of the General Orders Chapter C between January 1 and June 15, 2017,” he said in a statement today.

Lim said an allowance of RM300 would be paid to supervisors, teachers and staff of religious and Fardu Ain (KAFA) classes, Sekolah Rendah Agama Rakyat, Sekolah Menengah Agama Rakyat, Sekolah Agama Rakyat (KAFA Integrasi), state government-aided religious schools and state Chinese private schools.

"Meanwhile, teachers of maahad tahfiz, ‘pondok’schools and Islamic kindergartens will receive RM200,” he added. — Bernama
