KUALA LUMPUR, June 4 — Three people aboard a Piper PA28 light airplane survived a crash landing on an unopened section of the Nusajaya Highway in Johor this morning.

According to the Department of Civil Aviation director-general Datuk Azharuddin Abdul Rahman, the light plane operated by ELITE Flying Club was undergoing a training flight when it crashed onto an open overpass road near Pulai at about 10.15am.

"The Air Accident Investigation Bureau of Ministry of Transport will be investigating the cause of the accident,” he said in a statement without disclosing further details.

The Star Online reported that personnel from Fire and Rescue Department received a call about 10 minutes after the crash and took about two hours to clear the highway of debris.
